I know tougher parents would just let her cry herself back to sleep but I have found that one of my favorite things is going in to comfort her. I pick up my wailing little baby and the cries instantly stop. I lay her soft blanket over my shoulder and snuggle her up against it and just rock and snuggle. It's the only time of the day that she will peacefully lay against me and just rest. It's precious. I look forward to our evening snuggle. Six months ago I would have worried about this forming into some type of bad pattern. Now, I just soak up the sweet moments and enjoy the fact that she is so comforted by me just holding her.
This stage she is in is so fun. She greets strangers with a big "hi" everywhere we go. I had 5 old ladies surrounding us in the HyVee checkout line as Adelyn gleefully greeted them over and over again with a "hi! hi! hi!" Oh, and don't forget the table of 6 people that she zeroed in on to make friends with when out to eat. She got all 6 to say hi back to her with big smiles. It's hilarious.
Just loving this stage and wanted to write about it before I forget it.
