Snow Day

A few weeks back I remember having a conversation with a friend and saying, I wish we would at least have ONE good snow before winter is over. We both agreed that the chances were slim but one can home right?

Well sure enough the forecasts started predicting some snow- and some more snow- and some more!
In a matter of 8 hours we ended up with almost 11 inches. It was crazy (and beautiful!)

Apparently it was madness on the roads so I was glad we didn't have anywhere to go that day. Austin, Adelyn and I hunkered down and managed to keep our little busy-body occupied all day with various activities.

Since we haven't had a legit snow all winter we though Adelyn would be thrilled to play in the white stuff falling from the sky. Turns out she wasn't too crazy about it. I think it was almost too deep for her to have fun in.

Since the snow was so deep, there was no traffic on our road so we took a little family walk and let Chauncey run free. He was in heaven. That dog loves the snow.

Anyway, we made it through the snow storm, I didn't go into labor at an inconvenient time (which we kept joking about) and we are gearing up for another approaching storm next week. I'm thinking I'll be ready for spring after this is all over.
