A Happy Three Years

Happy three year anniversary to us! My goodness how life has changed in three years. I'm sure I'll say the same thing three years from now too but just over three years ago I was living with roommates, engaged, working full time in student ministry, one dog, and definitely no baby. It is kind of crazy how many huge life changes I have gone through in just three years.

After dropping Adelyn off at Aunt Leslie's house on Friday, Austin and I headed to Augusta to an awesome bed and breakfast for the night. We stayed in a newly renovated historic home and had it all to ourselves. It was stocked with food and was so cozy. I absolutely loved it. We went for a walk around the historic winery town that morning, I did a little antique shopping, we both got time to read and just relax. One of the best parts was that we got to actually sleep in! With our little one waking up no later than 6 am as of late, this was quite the luxury. Turns out she gave Aunt Les a taste of her early bird spirit and woke she and "Uncle Sneak" (as we affectionally refer to him as) up a little before 5 a.m. I guess Adelyn was jus really excited to be there!

After we picked Adelyn up, we made a quick swing by the St. Louis zoo. I'm so glad we did! Here is a video of a close encounter with some hippos.

We are settled back in at home now but I am so thankful for the refreshing getaway.

Here are a few other randoms:

We call this, "Pony tail gone wrong." After a day of a pony tail on top of her head, she had enough.

Baby number two is cooking right along. I am pretty much moved out of the icky first trimester stuff. Other than being a little more tired than usual, not too much has changed. I might have worn some maternity jeans for part of the day today. Yes, maternity jeans at 12 weeks. I don't think this baby bump is going to be as kind and graceful to my body as the first one was.

I've started taking small steps to prepare our guest room to be Adelyn's big girl room. The closet is somewhat cleaned out, I bought a fun duvet and hung a colorful mirror. We still need curtains, a rug, a dresser and a few other smaller items. We plan to move her in there in a few months so she has time to adjust before baby 2.0 rocks her little world.

Anyway, that's what has been going on with our little household.
